How Your Feedback Will Be Used
Transparency matters.
Bike Safe Streets uses feedback to understand broad community trends and prepare aggregated reporting. Participation is voluntary. No specific identifying information is required to complete the survey or share a route, and public results will focus on patterns, themes and overall findings rather than individual people.
You share your experience
Participants voluntarily submit feedback about cycling infrastructure and may optionally share a route, photograph or map. Participants do not need to provide their name, email address, home address, workplace, school or other specific identifying information.
Responses are reviewed
Feedback is categorized by location and common themes such as safe infrastructure, missing connections, intersections, pathway conditions and potential improvements. Information is reviewed for trends and recurring experiences, not to identify individual participants.
Findings are summarized
Bike Safe Streets will publish aggregated findings, statistics, community stories and route maps where appropriate. Route information may be generalized, combined, shortened or otherwise adjusted to protect privacy.
Findings are shared
Public summaries may be provided to municipal and provincial elected officials, transportation planners, community organizations and the public. Reporting will focus on broad trends, community experiences and recurring locations or themes.
Personal information stays private
Bike Safe Streets will not require or intentionally collect specific identifying information such as names, home addresses, workplaces, schools or phone numbers through the route-sharing process. If optional contact information is provided, it will be kept private and will not be included in public results. Names, email addresses and identifying contact information will not be published without explicit permission.
Bike Safe Streets is an independent community initiative. This is a voluntary advocacy survey and is not a representative public-opinion poll.
Data is used for trends and reporting.
Information submitted to Bike Safe Streets is used to identify broad patterns, summarize community feedback and support transparent reporting. Results may include aggregated statistics, generalized maps, recurring themes and anonymized or non-identifying examples. The purpose is to understand how infrastructure is experienced across communities, not to track or identify individual people.
